Creation On The Fourth Day
By
Holy Moses
Creation Of Sun, Moon And Stars
And God said, “Let there be lights in the space abode the sky, to divide
the Daylight from the Night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for
days and years, by rotation and by revolution: and let them be for lights in
the space above the sky to give light upon the earth: and it was so. Therefore,
God made the two great lights: the Sun and the Moon. The greater light, Sun, to
rule the Daylight, to shine upon the earth, during the daylight time; and the
lesser light, Moon, to rule the Night, by reflecting sunlight at Night. Also,
God created the stars, in their various constellations – large clusters and
beautiful designs.
And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold,
it was very good. And there was
Night and there was Daylight, the Fourth Day. Genesis

Why God Created Lights On The Fourth Day
The lights are not just ordinary sun, moon and stars. God put special powers of the Holy Spirit in each of the things He created. It is the powers of the Holy Spirit that use the created thing to do various works, for the benefit and wellbeing of the children of God and to the glory of God.
The brightness of the sun shows humanity the radiance of God, which is also called the presence of God or the glory of God. The sunlight shows how the presence of God extends to all the ends of creation, the universe. Hence, God is in His throne and also omnipresent. That is why the holy book says,
The Lord has established His
throne in heaven,
And His kingdom rules over all.
The earth is one of the ends of creation. The radiance of God reaches the ends of the world and also reaches the ends of all creation. That is why God says,
“Heaven is My
throne,
And earth is My
footstool.”
